This painting was started as a simple study of the brick wall around Tryon Palace gardens in New Bern, NC The early morning light creating shadows on the wall as the soft glow of sunlight made its presence known for yet another day. The emptiness of the trees and wall and the unknowing of what lay beyond the wall has yet to be resolved.
